Why this directory exists

Teachers are offered new AI tools every week, and most of them promise to save hours. It is hard to tell from their own websites which tool helps with a real task, such as planning tomorrow's lesson, leveling a reading passage or writing a clear note to a family, and which ones are a thin layer over a general chatbot.

LearningFound sorts these tools by the classroom job they do and describes each one in a plain line, so you can make a short list without reading a dozen sales pages. We note what we can confirm, such as a free plan or a Google Classroom connection, and leave the rest marked as unknown.

We also keep student privacy in view. Many of these tools handle student work, names or grades, and schools have rules about that. We point teachers to their school for those decisions rather than giving legal answers. We do not rate or rank tools. Sponsored placements are labeled, and they never change what a description says.

How tools are chosen and described

A tool is listed once we have confirmed that its official site is live and that it does the job its description says. We write every description in our own words and keep it short. We do not copy marketing text, publish scores or rank tools against each other.

Classroom tools often handle student work and student information, so we remind teachers to check with their school before using any tool with students. Rules such as FERPA and, for children under 13, COPPA may apply, and your district may already have a list of approved apps. We are not giving legal advice, and a listing here does not mean a tool is approved for your school.

Right now that is 54 AI tools for teachers in 10 categories, last checked 2026-11-03.

Makers can submit or claim a listing for free. A person checks every request before anything changes. Paid placements are marked Sponsored wherever they appear, and they never change what we write about a tool.

Corrections and removals

If a listing is wrong, or a tool has shut down, tell us. We answer within a week and rebuild the directory with the change.
