ClassDojo connects teachers and families, mostly in elementary schools. Teachers message parents directly or in groups, post updates and photos to a class story, and share announcements. Messages can be translated into many languages, which helps teachers reach families who do not read English.

It also has a points system that teachers use to recognize classroom behavior, and student portfolios where children can post work for their families to see. Schools can set up a school-wide account so families get updates from one place.

Think about what you post. Photos of students, behavior points and messages are student information, so check your school's rules on photos and on which details belong in a family app before you set up a class.
