Google's free classroom hub for posting assignments, collecting work in Docs and Slides, returning grades and messaging a class.
Google Classroom is where many K-12 classes post assignments, share materials and collect work. Teachers create a class, add students with a code or through the school's account system, and attach Google Docs, Slides, Forms or links to assignments. Students turn work in, and teachers grade and return it in the same place.
It ties closely to the rest of Google Workspace for Education, so files live in Google Drive and quizzes made in Google Forms can send grades back to Classroom. Schools can turn on Gemini features for teachers, and Google has added tools such as practice sets and help drafting materials, depending on the school's edition.
Classroom is free with Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals. What features you see depends on the edition your school pays for and the settings your school admin chooses, so check with your tech team before you plan around a specific feature.
